Meet your hosts

Blue Moon is a family-run business, and we extend our welcome to all to come participate in our special blend of cultures and traditions. Gideon came from Germany and found this magical spot in the hills above the ocean back in 1988, and created the guesthouse and Indian restaurant with his former partner, who has Indian heritage. While he grew his medical practice, Gideon and his wife, Eneyda, who is from the island, have also continued making the Blue Moon an iconic stop on the north coast. The family also grew with two beautiful children, Khayla and Samuel, who come from Haiti. Their journey is a rich, unique blend of many cultures, heritages, flavors and dreams.

This blend of cultures is reflected in what is on the menu at the restaurant, which has received excellent reviews in international publications. We specialize in Caribbean-Indian fusion cuisine, using local produce and Indian spices cooked and prepared in traditional recipes with a modern twist, making for a fresh, fragrant and unique dining experience. We also showcase the flavors of our travels, including favorite dishes from Europe and Asia.

In 2005, after a trip to India, we created and manage The Ruth Plaut Foundation, a nonprofit organization that works all year round with a community kindergarten and summer camps. In coordination with different organizations, which believe in our concept and support us for many years, we also operate various community projects.

Here at Blue Moon we believe that living in an organic and eco-friendly environment brings many benefits to your life and health. Our hopes and dreams are to inspire people who come and stay with us and help educate them on fresh and organic living. With our hospitality we want to create not costumers but long-lasting friendships.

By staying at Blue Moon, you help support 30 kids from the Ruth Plaut Kindergarten and many community projects, which we have been a part of for the last 20 years, and we hope we can continue contributing to for many more years.
